Situated in the middle of the Guild, right next to Mermaid Square, Joe’s is the flagship bar within Bugs and the linchpin of the Bugs drinking experience! By day the bar lends itself perfectly to all-day sessions, and is ideal for a quiet drink and game of pool between lectures. With a jukebox available for requests and MTV playing the latest tunes, Joe’s never lacks atmosphere. You can even use up your loose change on the gaming machines that offer the maximum payout possible.

After dark Joe’s bar comes alive in a variety of different ways. With 10 TVs, 2 large screens and a vibrant atmosphere it is the ideal place to watch sporting events. With a live DJ four times a week, regular karaoke and a large variety of beers, bottles, spirits and novelty drinks, Joe’s is frequently used as a pre-club bar for cheap drinking before dancing. On a Friday and Saturday night the bar hosts its own late-licensed club nights, providing entertainment until the early hours.

What we think:
A large bar which is a pleasant enough place to go to during the day, TVs display information and sport and the bar sells the ususal selection of beers and bottles as well as hot drinks and sandwiches. Hosts Fab 'n' Fresh on saturdays, when what seems like half the uni descends, it gets very crowded and the air conditioning is no where near to being powerful enough to keep the place cool! Despite this (and assuming you've had a few) Fab can be a great night.
